So, which do you like more? English (or whatever language) dub, or normal, Japanese dub anime?

I think that the normal, Japanese language in anime is good, because it is original, since anime is from Japan.

I think that English dub ruins the culture of the anime, and...yeah. It doesn't sound original. Besides, there are English captions-

I usually opt for the Japanese version, with English subs, of course. It's how the producers originally intended to present the shows.

Having said that, the dubs have their place. Dubbed anime is nice if I'm multitasking, focusing in on their voices is easier than reading subtitles. And honestly, English dubs can be perfectly entertaining in their own right, and there are some series of anime that are just as good as their original versions. There's even some English voice actors in certain series of anime that have actually outperformed their Japanese counterparts, in my opinion.

So yeah, overall, I prefer Japanese, but English is cool too. I usually watch both versions, starting up the dub after finishing the sub.

I feel that the original language is always superior. Like Wizard said, getting something (in this case, anime) dubbed into another language ruins its subtle nuances. The level of respect between characters when they use honorifics is an example. The puns go bye bye too as they are altogether skipped most of the time.

The Japanese dub is very much preferred to me. The voices has a lot of emotions, and to me, I feel like I'm actually in the anime. Unlike the Japanese dub, the English dub has less emotions and those kawaii moe voices? They start to sound fake or became deep. One of the examples of this voices are Mina Ashido's. In the Japanese dub, her voice is very cheerful and high, but in English, it's like an adult's and it's less joyful.

Of course, this is just my opinion so you don't have to agree with everything I said.

Why go for a normal anime when you want something Bizarre?- o<o I can't really add onto it to be honest. o3o pftt... Have there been an anime that covers many languages based on the location within the anime? Like how certain characters communicate to each other with a specific language.

I most likely prefer subbed because sometimes when the Anime is dubbed, the words from the original script of the Anime isn't right. And sometimes I can't keep up what are the characters are saying when I don't have anything to guide me.

Japanese usually. For whatever reason the English VA industry has been and still is subpar (many great dubs but overall kind of bad) despite being probably just as old as the Japanese one. Still the only famous English anime VA anyone seems to know is Steve Blum. Also I like using Japanese dub with English subs to learn Japanese :p

All that being said, the ideal is having both Japanese and English because having a dub I fully understand lets me appreciate the visuals more :pP

I grew to like subs more, but my dad and younger sister (13 yo) like dubs cause they don't have to read, also my 5 yo sister can't read, so in front of her it's dubs. IDK what my mom prefers... Maybe I'll ask her when I get home. But the point is, I like subs better but watch dub more.
Edit: she also said she'd choose dub I'm totally outnumbered TwT

I honestly don't really mind. I mean, I've heard that dubs usually leave some out that subs don't? But like, usually you get the same exact plot and characters out of each version which are the things I look for

Haha... Just in case you haven’t seen it, I believe the anime from your profile picture (Nichijou) is dubbed, I got notifications for it all over YouTube!

I haven’t watched it in so long like 3-4 years or so but I’m using a cheap sakamoto print as my phone case rip-
