I'm probably going to be able to finally watch anime in about a month or two, but I need good recommendations.
And no, don't say Dragon Ball Z, I already decided I am not interested in it.

I'll just leave a short list here...

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!
    - Hilarious comedy anime based in a fantasy world! An excellent subversion of the standard isekai formula, with lovable characters and plenty of funny moments!

One Punch Man - Both comedy and action rolled into one, as well as some of the most beautiful animation I've ever seen...Though, this might not be the best anime to start with, considering many of the jokes revolve around subverting normal anime tropes and turning them on their head.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - This meme machine of an anime consists of clever fight scenes and quirky characters, making for a really unique experience that I haven't been able to replicate with other shows! But, it's a bit gory, so you might not want to watch it if you're not comfortable with it. Also, the first 9 episodes are a bit rough around the edges. It gets better from episode 10 and on, I promise!

My Hero Academia - This show is what would happen if anime and the Marvel Cinematic Universe had a baby. Superheroes, costumes, superpowers, all that jazz. I've only seen the first season, but it was quite enjoyable, and I plan on seeing the second season soon.

Mob Psycho 100 - Originally written by the same author of One Punch Man, this is a show about a boy with psychic abilities. This is very much a character based anime, with more focus on the main character's emotions and feelings, rather than the action, though it is most certainly there. Highly recommend it, I found it super compelling!

man, everyone suggested the good ones !! i guess i'll just reinforce them lmao

A Silent Voice / Koe No Katachi - a movie that is about two hours long. the main protagonist aims to make amends with himself and with the people around him by making things right again with the girl he hurt in elementary school. it's a wonderfully written drama and i love it to pieces.

One Punch Man - currently one season of twelve episodes. a man is able to destroy anything in one punch, but because of this, he's always super bored, and is always looking for someone who doesn't die from one punch. a lot of action and even more comedy, in an almost parodical type of way. made me actually "lmao" !

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - i actually haven't finished this one yet, but i think the first season has about 24 episodes. a dude gets reincarnated as a slime, and kind of leaves the world in a riot ! it's actually a really good isekai that adds a wholesome and interesting touch to the genre itself. pacing is excellent and i would definitely pick it back up if i had the time.

Noragami - action, action, drama, comedy, action ! this one is has two seasons, i believe, i watched it so long ago. a normal high school girl meets a not so normal god and gets caught up in the world of deities. the character interaction was *godly* (ahahah, get it?) and i followed all of it hook, line, and sinker.

Nanbaka - all about that comedy, baby. four notorious prisoners are also notorious escapees, who have been placed in the worlds toughest - and cleanest - prison, of which no one had escaped before. hilarity ensues ! in all honesty, i really liked the way it was presented, and would definitely watch it again for the laughs and the characters.

Boku no Hero Academia - i think a lot of people have mentioned this already !! a powerless boy decides to follow in the footsteps of the most inspirational and powerful hero and gets himself caught in something bigger. i think there's a fourth season coming ? i've only seen the first, but judging from the fact that i enjoyed the first and that the fanbase is enormous, it's an incredibly good show.

Hibike! Euphonium - beautiful. absolutely gorgeous. kyoto animation really did a good job. anyways, time to stop nerding out - a euphonium player decides to join the band at the school she is newly attending as a first-year, and finds old and new friends along the way. it's basically band, band, amazing music, drama? and more band ! i loved it as i watched and i loved listening to it. seriously, they got an actual band to play the soundtrack. isn't that amazing ??

i think that's enough ! all that i can think of right now, anyway. there are a couple more that i have heard of, but they are not as familiar to me so i'm not gonna list them unless asked lol.
if you'd like some game or book recommendations too, i'll gladly answer !! wink wonk ;D

Death Parade: This has to be one of my favourite anime , it’s a mix of mysterious, drama, and psychological. After death, there’s no Hell or Heaven, you either become reincarnated or your soul gets permanently destroyed. A pair of two people, who recently died, have to play a random game like darts, poker, air hockey that’s prepared by the arbiter. During the game, their memories come back, some is full of betrayal, big drama, and others that I shouldn’t spoil. After the game, the arbiter decides whether the person reincarnates or falls into the void. It follows the story of Decim, an arbiter.

Nichijou: If you love comedy anime then this is perfect for you! It follows the daily lives of 6 characters, Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi, Mai Minakami, the robot Nano, Hakase Shinonome, and the talking cat Sakamoto. Some parts will be calm, some will be weird, and some will be very relatable. Most of the time, they’ll over exaggerate simple moments like getting bit by a dog or dropping your favorite food on the floor.

    Love, Chunibyou, and Other Delusions:
Literally the most genius anime in history, periodt. It centers around Rikka, a delusional girl, trying to fall in love with Yuuta, a guy who has put his own delusions in the past. A colorful cast of characters weave a humorous tale of love, all while dealing with some serious topics as well. It's good, humorous, and a fun, action-packed slice of life.

Fate/Zero: A fun fantasy anime filled with the greatest clash of ideals ever. Seven duos of Masters and Servants (who are based from notable figures from the past), fight in a battle royale for the Holy Grail, an omnipotent wish-granting device. However, the series is mostly revolving around the characters' outlooks on life, specifically Kiritsugu Emiya, mage hunter, and Kotomine Kirei, a clergyman trying to find meaning in his life. It's bloody and epic, and its just entertaining.

Idolish7: A male idol series... and a nice one at that. It's not like most other idol anime at all. It deals with frustratingly real issues, and focuses on dealing with realistic ideals. It's not focused on idols loving their fans, or striving to become the best. No, its focused on how each member deals with their own problems and rivalries. It's a nice, refreshing watch, and the CG isn't horrid, so that's a bonus.
