I'm not very good at critique, so sorry if the feedback sucks... (I'm also late but pretend I'm on time lol) I found this entry to be quite interesting! Though, I'm not familiar with the source material, so some things in the story might have gone over my head. Overall, I felt that the story had a darker and serious feel to it, which lends itself well to the prompt topic of death. It felt a bit short, and the ending seemed a bit vague, though that does add an air of mystery to the story, which, if that was the intention, was done well. Ooh, I liked this one a lot! The characterization was really engaging to me, even though not much was directly stated, merely implied, which made it all the more enjoyable to fill in the blanks with my mind. The level of detail really immersed me into the prompt, and the ending makes me kinda want a sequel... Anyways, for this prompt, I'm picking @Zeroth as the winner. So, uh...yeah. Good job, guys.
